汎舟大河裏，
積水窮天涯。
天波忽開拆，
郡邑千萬家。
行復見城市，
宛然有桑麻。
回瞻舊鄉國，
淼漫連雲霞。

Sailing in a boat in the great river
Waters mounting to the edge of the sky
Sky and waves suddenly part
And there was a city vast and populous
And on we went and there were more towns
And mulberry trees and flax between them
I looked back towards my old place—
A waste of waters right up to vaporous clouds.
